Dr. James Van Stone DVM
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. James Van Stone is the DVM and Owner of Pierz Veterinary Clinic, where he has been serving the community since October 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 2011.
After graduating, Dr. Van Stone began his veterinary career working alongside Dr. Gordy DeVries in April 2011. His dedication to animal care and commitment to the community led him to purchase the clinic the following year, continuing its tradition of compassionate and high-quality veterinary medicine.
Dr. Van Stone knew from the age of 12 that he wanted to become a veterinarian. While his career path occasionally shifted throughout his journey, he found that prayer continually guided him back to veterinary medicine. His passion for being an advocate for animals has remained the driving force behind his work and dedication to the profession.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Van Stone enjoys woodworking, playing pinball, traveling, building LEGO creations, and visiting arcades. He lives in Pierz with his wife, Heather, their daughter, Clara, their dog, and two cats, and they are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their son.
Dr. Sarah Siders DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Siders joined Pierz Veterinary Clinic as a DVM in August 2025. Originally from Bluffton, Ohio, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Findlay before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical year at the University of Minnesota and then moved to Pierz to begin her career in mixed animal general practice.
Dr. Siders is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to both small and large animals while building lasting relationships with the families and farmers she serves.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her horse, Bree, reading, and traveling to experience new places and adventures.
